Ethnographic expedition to Loeu district

NGO "Talaka" from Homiel organized ethnographic expedition to Loeu district. As the vice-chairman of the organization said, among the aims were theoretical study of the region and searching for materials, that could help in reconstruction of traditional fests in modern society or could be used during study-circles and workshops. Performing arts, traditional craftsmanship and knowledge concerning nature and the universe in Loeu district are distinguishing and diverse. The most of traditional crafts is not a living tradition now, things are preserved in museums.The role of workers of state culture institutions in preserving of intangible cultural heritage in Loeu district is very high. The most part of information about songs and rites was obtained from people connected to folk groups of culture institutions.
