The "Sula" rite in Marcavičy village

The "Sula" rite took place in Marcavičy village (Homiel district) on April 21th, the second day of Easter. This rite is a peculiarity of the territory of ancient Radzimičy tribe unity, which populated the floodplain of the Sož river in IX-XII centuries. The "Sula" rite was accomplished till 1976 by bearers of traditions. In 2007 it was restored using bearers' memories by teachers and students of Marcavičy secondary school.
